I am a Welsh Artist, who focuses on textiles and fashion/textiles design. I'm based currently in Birmingham, UK where I am studying Fine Art at Birmingham City University, Margret Street.

After moving to a Birmingham City from South Wales, I was introduced to a new way of life and started to attend raves, and without my knowing I started to become a part of a rave subculture as I was constantly in that environment.

 

My art practice is dedicated to exploring subcultures and the aesthetics within it. I'm focusing mostly on rave subcultures and the factors that make this subculture existent. I'm exploring the role of clothing through fashion design, and the role of scenes and aesthetics through photography. I'm very interested in exploring and defining the relationship between music and fashion and how this is portrayed through art and fashion design, as music is a big influence in my everyday life and in my practice.

 

Textiles and fashion design allows me to explore my appearance and aesthetic regarding the style of clothing. I like the concept of wearing my own art through fashion as it touches onto my individualism as a person.  Using the over-locker allows me to create an artistic, deconstructing aesthetic to the edge of my clothing. I enjoy working with material and stitching as I can experiment and manipulate the process to create something new.
